Pennsylvania is known for being the home of the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Amish communities, a good Philly cheesesteak, and delicious chocolate: these are the things that first come to mind for most Americans when you mention the state. Pennsylvania is such a diverse place to spend your time, though, that there are so many more interesting, entertaining, delicious, and delectable things to know about it! If you’re heading to the Keystone State for a little relaxation or even for business, there are so many delicious food destinations and entertainment experiences to have in 2026. We’ve rounded up three of the best in each category, and we’re giving you the rundown on each one so that you can plan ahead to make the most of your next trip.

Entertainment
Jim Thorpe
Next, we have something a little different. Jim Thorpe is a historic mountain town that’s home to beautifully maintained Victorian architecture, long and winding hiking trails, scenic railway lines, lots of small businesses, and captivating stores and restaurants that you’ll never want to leave. When you’re in town, there are a few things that you won’t want to miss:
- Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway. You’ll board this iconic train in downtown Jim Thorpe and then wind your way through the Lehigh Gorge for views that just do not quit. While this train can get you from place to place, it’s more about the experience of the scenery than it is transport.
- Historic Jim Thorpe. The downtown area of the town is, in itself, a wholesome tourist attraction and an all-around great day out. Stroll along Broadway, visit the Victorian buildings that dot the area, stop to appreciate some art, and grab a souvenir from one of the local small businesses.
- If you feel like you need a little break and you’re ready to take it easy, relax in a comfy spot and try out the best online casino in Pennsylvania from the comfort of the couch, your bed, a park bench, or anywhere you can take a load off.
- Outdoor activities. If you’re an adventurer, there are many to be had! THeres the nearby Lehigh Gorge State Park, many hiking and biking trails, scenic mountain viewpoints and overlooks, the Delaware and Lehigh Train, and lots of river activities.
Immerse yourself in a little down-home Americana and take it easy with a slower pace of daily life.

Hersheypark
Yes, that Hershey! This is not only a full-day-worthy theme park but also the home of America’s most beloved chocolate brand. The park is home to more than 70 rides and attractions, seasonal shows, classic park food, and shopping too. Some of the main attractions to look out for are
- Many large-scale roller coasters, including the famed Candymonium
- Family-friendly rides
- Water attractions that are open in the summer and fall months
- Classic carnival games like ring toss and ski ball
- The Twizzlers ride: Twizzlers Twisted Gravity. This is a 137-foot screaming swing and only for adrenaline junkies.
- ZooAmerica: a vast North American wildlife park connected to the theme park.
- Hershey’s Chocolate World. This isn’t technically connected to the park but immediately adjacent to it. Enjoy all the chocolate theme experiences you could ever wish for
If you have the time, be sure to book a table at the Chocolatier Restaurant. It’s a distinctive, Hershey-centered dining experience and features a chocolate-themed (surprise!) menu and decor that would make Willy Wonka himself proud. It’s full-service rather than more casual amusement park-style dining and can be found in Chocolatetown.
Cuisine
Reading Terminal Market- Philadelphia
Philly is worth a visit for so many reasons, but the Reading Terminal Market is definitely in the top three. This is more than a spot to grab a little lunch: it’s an historical Philadelphia attraction that includes a food hall, farmer’s market, and shopping all in one. The market has been in its current location since 1893 and is home to more than 80 merchants that sell everything from Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch food and products to cheesesteaks (yesss), classic Jewish deli foods, fresh seafood, Middle Eastern, Asian, Caribbean, Indian, and Filipino cuisine. Different merchants have different schedules, but the market itself is open from 8-6 every day. These are some highlights for you to enjoy.
- DiNic’s. The roast pork sandwich made here is nothing short of a transformative experience. The Travel Channel even named it the Best Sandwich in America, and they don’t kid.
- Uncle Gus’ Steaks. When in Philly (or anywhere in Pennsylvania, really), a cheesesteak is a MUST, and Uncle Gus is the best in the market.
- Miller’s Twist. Get your mouth around an Amish pretzel, and you will never want another kind of pretzel again. Fresh, warm, and the perfect stopgap while you browse for a main meal.
- Beiler’s. Amish baked goods again, but the sweet variety this time, and OH BOY is this an unmissable stop. Donuts, pies, sticky buns… It’s all here.

New Hope
This is, without doubt, the top foodie destination in all of Pennsylvania. The dozens of excellent and wildly diverse restaurants situated in a fairly small, very walkable area in New Hope make it an excellent spot for a culinary walking tour: breakfast here, lunch there, dinner somewhere else, and stops for coffee and sweet treats along the way; it’s a major win. Here are some of the best-loved foodie destinations in the area.
- Ferry Market. This is one large, bustling, welcoming food hall with many vendors that offer all kinds of delicious treats and meals. From traditional, wholesome sandwiches and desserts to Peruvian and Mediterranean cuisine and more.
- Riverfront dining. Step out to the waterfront and try a location like Martine’s Riverhouse, where you’ll get a traditional restaurant and gorgeous views; or Stella, which overlooks the Delaware River and focuses on small plates and an upmarket atmosphere.
- Head to Havana Bar and Grill to enjoy a meal and some live entertainment.
- There’s Bowman’s Tavern, which is a little more relaxed, with classic piano bar entertainment weekly.
- If the welcome of a traditional Irish pub is what you’re after, try The Dubliner on the Delaware for excellent vibes and delicious pub meals.
Immerse Yourself In Pennsylvania Culture
As far as cuisine and entertainment go, a Pennsylvania state of mine is the place to be. Get adventurous, try new foods, take in the scenery, and basically have the best trip ever.
