In honor of Caribbean Heritage Month, Brooklyn is getting a full island food takeover for two days. Hosted at Restoration Plaza, a 300,000-square-foot commercial hub in the heart of Bed-Stuy, this family-friendly event draws more than 50 vendors representing food traditions from Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Puerto Rico, and more along with live performances and musical entertainment. Fresh coconuts, roti, jerk chicken are to be expected, but you can also try a sample of doubles and mofongo from some of the city’s best Caribbean vendors. No tickets required—it’s free admission. Hours: Sat & Sun, June 27-28, 11am-9pm.
