Earlier this year we told you about a chef-driven campaign to convince Governor Cuomo to ban upstate hydraulic fracturing for shale gas–or fracking, as it’s known. The chefs, concerned that fracking would damage farms, breweries and wineries that sit atop the Marcellus Shale, launched their campaign to protect our farms, food and water from fracking. To that end, the campaign is hosting a fundraising dinner this Thursday at the Brooklyn Winery in Williamsburg.
The dishes, prepared by a host of celebrated chefs, will be prepared with locally sourced ingredients and paired with wines and beer also from the Marcellus region of upstate New York. The main event, which will benefit New Yorkers Against Fracking and Chefs for the Marcellus, is at Brooklyn Winery from 7-10 p.m. For more info and to get tickets (available only in advance!) click here. See below for the list of participating chefs.
Participating chefs include: Michael Anthony, Gramercy Tavern; Heather Carlucci, PRINT; Mary Cleaver, The Green Table & Cleaver Co.; David Colston, Brooklyn Winery; Elizabeth Falkner, Krescendo; Peter Hoffman, Back Forty & Back Forty West; Daniel Holzman, The Meatball Shop; Chris Santos, The Stanton Social; Zak Pelaccio, Fatty Crew; Bill Telepan, Telepan.
