Filipino Heritage Degustation – Chef Joel’s 12-Course Tasting Menu, October 4–5
Celebrate the beginning of Filipino American Heritage with a luxurious 12-course dinner by chef Joel Javier, formerly of fine-dining havens Bouley and Aquavit and former Chef Coordinator for the James Beard Awards VIP Dinner. Chef Joel’s exclusive dining series, Flip Pop-Up, highlights his modern, seasonally driven approach to Filipino food, one of the world’s first fusion cuisines. Dine at Brooklyn Suya as Part of New York African Restaurant Week 2019,  October 4–20
This month, New York African Restaurant Week 2019 partners with Brooklyn Suya, a Nigerian spot in Crown Heights that’s garnered rave reviews from the New York Times, Edible, and Bklyner. Chef Hema Agwu serves his famously fiery suya—a popular street food in Nigeria, where the name refers to both the spice and the dish.
