Our friends at Brooklyn Based and Brooklyn Brewery sure know how to throw a good party. Every summer they pick some worthy Brooklyn neighborhoods for their Immersion tour and then give away loads of tickets good for free beer samples and deals at bars, restaurants and shops in that area. This year the party kicks off on Saturday, June 8th with Total Red Hook Immersion and we couldn’t be more excited for these reasons:
1. We heart Red Hook in a big, big way.
2. We dream of cocktails at Fort Defiance every time the weather exceeds 70 degrees.
3. Red Hook Lobster Pound not only makes a killer lobster roll, but that lobster mac ‘n cheese…(we just drooled on our keyboard)
4. Red Hook still needs our love in this post-Sandy world.
This year the fun includes free beer at Brooklyn Ice House, Rocky Sullivan’s, Fort Defiance and Jalopy Tavern; complimentary Local 1 and Local 2 over brunches at The Good Fork, Kevin’s and Home/Made, plus discounts at local spots like Foxy & Winston, Metal and Thread and Red Hook Lobster Pound, which is taking $2 off its lobster rolls for Immersion ticket holders. And, taking the festivities to a new level this year with live music, lucky ticket holders will also score entrance to see electro-folk-pop stars Wyatt play at Jalopy Theater at 5pm.
To get a ticket, show up at Brooklyn Ice House or Rocky Sullivan’s starting at noon. Fair warning: last year they handed out all 500 tickets in the first hour, so get there early. And if you miss the Red Hook fun, catch one of the other 2013 Immersion dates, which include The Total Long Island City Immersion July 13; The Total Crown Heights Immersion September 7; and The Total Gowanus Immersion October 5.
