Our friends at Brooklyn Based and Brooklyn Brewery sure know how to throw a good party. Every summer they pick some worthy Brooklyn neighborhoods for their Immersion tour and then give away loads of tickets good for free beer samples and deals at bars, restaurants and shops in that area. This year: Red Hook.
Hungry? Our events calendar has loads of Edible events around the city, like today’s grand reopenings of the Red Hook Winery, Red Hook Lobster Pound and Fairway Market. Here’s what’s happening this week.
Sam Adams and the Red Hook Lobster Pound truck got together at David Burke kitchen last week and, in what could be a preview to Good Beer on July 31st, showed how well beer and lobster rolls go together. Brewer Jennifer Glanville pointed out how the bright complexities of the Summer Ale are balanced by the richness of lobster.
Not even a little bit of rain could stop one and all from having a blast at last Wednesday’s Drive-In Dinner at the Brooklyn Brewery. Bongo Brothers, the Red Hook Lobster Pound, Feed Your Hole, the Morris Truck and Coolhaus transformed the block outside of the brewery into the tastiest place to be in Williamsburg.
In case the word hasn’t yet reached you, the folks here at Edible have been busy lately. We’ve been drumming up food trucks, local wines and dairy galore for these awesome upcoming events we’re sure you’ll enjoy.
We’ve got dairy, we’ve got food trucks and we’ve got wine! Basically, your taste buds will be spoiled rotten over the next few months.
Food trucks are synonymous with on-the-go eating, but every once and while, it’s nice to be able to sit down with it, enjoy several courses of it, and pair it with beers from the Brooklyn Brewery.
Hear that? It’s the sound of food trucks rolling to a stop at the Brooklyn Brewery for the Drive-In Dinner. We challenge you to find another event in Brooklyn (or Manhattan or Queens or Staten Island) where you can get a 5-course meal from food trucks with beer pairings from the Brooklyn Brewery…and all for $40.
