Brooklyn restaurant Cherry Point hosts another of their wine pop-ups, following their successful Hungarian wine and sherry tastings. This time, the theme is Beaujolais—a perfect red for the beginning of fall. T. Edwards Wine & Spirit will provide wines by the glass, including classic Beaujolais reds and newer natural wines. Beta x La Nueva Mesa Explore The Plant Kingdom, October 14
This intimate, plant-based dinner will be well worth the excursion to Roosevelt Island. Brought to you by the culinary team at Queens’ waitlist-only popup Beta, the menu features locally-sourced dishes paired with exquisite wines. Chefs Drew Shives, Matthew Taber, and Amir Dholakia—all Jean-George alumni—will be preparing Japanese eggplants lacquered with berry kosho tare and baby potatoes cooked in a massam melon curry beurre blanc, among other tempting fare.

Gertie Presents – Luncheonette Roulette, October 14
Charming Williamsburg café Gertie kicks off a new dinner series this month. After launching their new dinner menu inspired by classic American diner foods, the Gertie team invited some of their favorite diners and luncheonettes from across the country to each host an evening in Brooklyn and add a signature sandwich to Gertie’s menu. October’s event will feature food from Hudson, NY luncheonette Lil’ Deb’s Oasis, including their banana cream, chocolate ginger pie, and choripan with salsa verde. Revel in the ultimate fall experience—a choose-your-own pumpkin patch—without leaving the city. Widow Jane 7th Anniversary Party, October 11
Brooklyn’s own whiskey distillery Widow Jane celebrates a lucky seven years of operation. Start the evening with tastings of their flagship bourbons, ryes, and specialty pours like Baby Jane and The Vaults 14-Year-Old Bourbon, (you’ll get to keep your rocks glass). Then dance the night away to music from Indaculture while sipping Botanica cocktails made with Widow Jane whiskeys. There’ll also be light bites and food truck eats, plus desserts and Crossroads Brewing beers available to purchase. A raffle will be held to benefit You Gotta Believe, an NYC-based charity supporting young people in foster care.
