Through 9/17: If you love a good cocktail paired with a nice meal, you’re in luck: Woodford Reserve and The Trotter Project have teamed up for an epic event. “The Woodford Reserve Pairing and Sharing Program to benefit The Trotter Project, a 501(c)(3) organization uniting budding young talent interested in the culinary arts and hospitality industry, through the Pillars of Excellence Mentor Program. Woodford Reserve will donate a $1 ($10,000 max donation) per every pairing menu sold during the month at participating accounts.”

9/9: If you’d like to kick off the fall season a little miserable (but well-informed), head to The City After Climate Change: “Vanessa Keith, a New York-based architect from Jamaica and principal of StudioTEKA will discuss her book “2100: A Dystopian Utopia — The City After Climate Change.” The book visualizes possible design solutions to suggest the profound adaptability and possibilities of the design field to meet environmental challenges in the future.”
9/10: We all love our knives, but maybe you should take that to the next level by learning how to make them at CrafstmanAve’s Introduction to Knife Making class. “This workshop focuses on teaching basic knife making skills in two sessions….Most of the skills taught in this class are entry-level, and will easily be retained. The class, in two parts, teaches the student first about the properties of steel and how to work with it, opening the door to more advanced metalworking classes. The class also teaches the basics of design with respect to functionality – every student wants their knife to not only look excellent but also be a reliable tool for any occasion.”
9/17: Get together with fellow oyster loves at the Brooklyn Oyster Social. “The day will include 12 Ultra-Premium East & West Coast Oyster Varieties, shucked live & served raw, on the half shell. The extraordinary collection of oysters will be curated by Kevin Joseph, founder of The OysterHood, New York Oyster Week and Miami Oyster Week. Guests will forage from station to station sampling the dozen varieties dressed with fine mignonettes. Kevin & Staff will be offering Shucking Lessons as well. One Hotel Brooklyn Bridge will provide bites and paired beer (lovingly provided by Brooklyn Brewery) and wine will round out the afternoon.”
