Earlier this month, the beer flowed and the food was plentiful at our “Beer-y Good Meal” at the Brooklyn Brewery.
The intimate dinner was led by the brewery’s house chef, Andrew Gerson, who shuttled from table to table welcoming guests and describing each course. Starting with local cheese and charcuterie, the dinner’s main attraction was a seafood ciopinno. Packed with clams, mussels and fish in a warm tomato broth, the stew was paired with a pile of bread. Guests washed it all down with cans of the brewery’s American Ale and East India Pale Ale.
It’s not a feast without dessert and the scoop slingers from OddFellows Ice Cream Company sealed the deal. They served sundaes of Black Chocolate Stout ice cream with sweet and savory toppings.
