Want to taste tacos, sample crispy pork belly, and try bites from all the North Brooklyn restaurants you’ve been meaning to check out while supporting a worthy cause? Head to the sixth annual Taste Williamsburg Greenpoint festival on September 13. Tickets for the event, which kicks off at 1:00, start at $35 and include food, beer, wine and cocktails from over 50 neighborhood bars and restaurants.
The team behind the Northside Town Hall, an initiative at the site of a former firehouse in Williamsburg, is about halfway to their goal of raising the $2.6 million it will take to open the new community and culture center. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Town Hall to support their campaign.
“Taste Williamsburg Greenpoint is an exciting example of local businesses and residents coming together to build a better community,” says Felice Kirby, Vice President of Northside Town Hall. “Rapid change has brought stresses, but this event and the cause it serves are a positive development. Seeing this industry play such a positive and generous role for the community is inspiring.”
Newcomers to this year’s festival include Delaware & Hudson, The Heyward, Williamsburg Hotel, Lilia and Oleanders. Enjoy the waning summer on the Brooklyn waterfront at the block party, and don’t miss the oysters from Maison Premiere.
