From a pump-your-own cup at the corner bodega to the latte art that rivals the masterpieces at the MET to the world’s best beans roasted throughout the boroughs, New York City is no longer a second city to Seattle when it comes to excellent coffee. A fact you’d already know if you’re following Edible Manhattan’s coffee coverage, natch.
That’s why the next installment in our How-To series at Brooklyn Brewery will teach you what you need to know about coffee making at home. Everything. The experts from local favorites like Dallis Bros. (the Queens roaster we profiled last year) will show you how to pull shots of espresso, Blue Bottle will talk about brewing better coffee through various methods, and Gorilla is planning a demo about how to roast beans at home in an ordinary frying pan.
It all takes place at Brooklyn Brewery on Wednesday, September 28th from 8 to 10 p.m. At only $5, it’s almost cheaper than some cups of coffee in this city, and samples will be served. (A big thank you to Organic Valley for providing the dairy for those who take cream in those samples). For tickets, click here.
