Dynaco
1112 Bedford Ave.
A cozy cocktail bar perfect for dates nearby much rowdier Bed-Stuy bars. The bar, open since 2013, is most famous for its fireplace.
Glorietta Baldy
502 Franklin Ave.
While it feels like a beer bar, Glorietta Baldy can do it all—plus pinball. The beer and wine selection skews refreshingly local, and there is trivia on Wednesdays.
Golda
504 Franklin Ave.
An Instagram-friendly space with serious food that’s open for breakfast and lunch. The tiny café makes eating in a squeeze, but it’s worth it for dishes like babka French toast and eggplant menemen.
Grandchamps
197 Patchen Ave.
This big, blue, inviting space serves up Haitian food and Haitian-style takes on the everyday, like fried chicken. Go for the akra-focused vegetarian sandwich, djon djon (black rice) and plantains Foster with fried dough and rum caramel.
Hart’s
506 Franklin Ave.
Everyone loves Hart’s, for good reason. The small, fashionable restaurant leans Mediterranean and seasonal, with a nice natural wine selection (plus a little sherry!).
Lovers Rock
419 Tompkins Ave.
If you like rum and a party, Lovers Rock, where the crowd tends to spill out onto the sidewalk, is for you.

Toad Style
93 Ralph Ave.
Pretty much everything is made in-house at this vegan restaurant that’s become a classic in record time. From their veggie burgers to salads to gyros made with mushrooms and artichoke hearts, everything here is thoughtful and fresh yet feels like something you grew up with. The owners now also have a coffee shop across the street called Familiars with vegan bagel sandwiches and doughnuts.
