Whether you’re hosting Friendsgiving, making a few stops or cooking the whole feast, we all forget something. If you keep these spots in mind as you plan, though, you’re sure to be a little more calm. Another bottle of wine, a full vegan spread and even a whole turkey kit can make a world of difference. Here’s where to go to find them.
The Cinnamon Snail
Every vegan’s favorite food truck also saves Thanksgiving every year with their menu that’s available for pickup on the holiday at four separate locations: Midtown’s The Pennsy, Brooklyn’s Pfizer Building, Hoboken, New Jersey, and Red Bank, New Jersey. You can order everything from a complete individual meal ($23), available gluten-free or non, or build your own out of their offerings: French mustard grilled seitan cashew cheese tarts, white truffle mac and cheese, parsnip sage bread pudding, doughnuts, pumpkin chiffon pie, and more. Place your order by Sunday, November 20 at midnight.
Fleisher’s
The legendary butcher is taking turkey pre-orders through Friday, Novemer 18 at midnight. There are a number of sizes available, along with a selection of stuffings—country breakfast, maple sage, hot Italian, and sweet Italian. They’re also offering a Turkey Essentials Kit for $15.99 that contains a resealable brining bag, brining blend, herb roasting rub, butcher’s twine, and a brining and roasting guide. It couldn’t be simpler.
Bubby’s
If pie is what you’re after, Bubby’s gives both pickup and Caviar delivery options. You have to order by November 20 for Thanksgiving, when the shop will be closed, but that’s plenty of time to decide. The flavors are: Local Apple Whiskey Crumble, Sour Cherry, Pear cranberry, Pumpkin Pecan Pie, Key Lime Pie, Chocolate Peanut Butter.
Marley Spoon
If you want a Martha Stewart–caliber Thanksgiving without putting in Martha-level effort, her meal-kit delivery service Marley Spoon offers a Thanksgiving box that gives you turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts and an apple pie.
Gristmill
For pies from one of our new favorite places, where 90 percent of the ingredients are sourced in New York state, just call (718-499-2424) or email (info@gristmillbk.com) the Park Slope shop. Choose between Squash Ginger, which uses butternut squashes from Heermance Farm in Tivoli, New York, or Apple, made with apples from Scott Farm in Dummerston, Vermont. Or just get both! They’re $39 each and can be picked up on Wednesday, November 23.
Riverdel
The vegan cheese shop in Prospect Heights will plan out a cheese plate for you based on the number of guests you have—how nice is that? Get in touch with them for details and delivery, then get ready to snack.
Mercato
You put your zip code into Mercato’s site and it gives you a list of amazing specialty grocers who deliver to you. Whether you’re putting together a cheese plate, need a steak or want some Bien Cuit breads, they’ve got you.
Minibar
Wine, beer and liquor are pretty much essential for parties. If you don’t use Minibar already, it connects you with local wine and liquor stores to bring you quite a good array of bottles that can fill out any holes you see in your stock while you continue to make the stuffing.
