Thanks to the resurgence of local grains and a relaxation of New York distilling regulations, small-scale distilleries are cropping up left and right. Your liquor cabinet may be too small to accommodate bottles from every worthwhile endeavor (New York State has issued more then 71 distilling licenses in the last decade) but Slow Food NYC and New York Distilling Company are partnering to host their third annual Spirits of New York event to help you sample your way through the state’s new liquor landscape.
On Tuesday, November 18, representatives from a wide variety of regional beverage makers will be sampling cocktails and spirits at New York Distilling Company’s Williamsburg location. Last year’s lineup included a who’s who of distillers complemented by makers of bitters, syrups, and mixers. Participants included Black Dirt Distillery, Hillrock Estate Distillery, Hella Bitter and Morris Kitchen, among others. You can purchase tickets here.
