Just around 450 descended on Bryant Park last Wednesday in celebration of Eat Drink Local week (and if you want to see all the delicious grilly-grilly action, click here for a fun video clip of the corn shuckin’, meat roastin’ shenanigans – just keep a napkin nearby because you will drool). ‘wichcraft’s executive chef, Mike Barbera, and his team created a unbelievable (but oh-so edible) spread, the likes of succulent roasted pig from one of Niman Ranch‘s New York area farms, roasted beet salad, market fresh green beans and tomatoes, potato salad, sandwiches, and wichcraft’s famed cream’wiches for dessert — sigh. There was, quite literally, not an ounce of food left to eat by the time all was roasted and done. Drinks were a-plentiful, too – one of the big hits of the night was Cliffton Dry a premium sparking cider new to the market. Peak Organic was pouring their Summer Session brew, Brooklyn Brewery provided a mix of their most popular beers, Q-Drinks provided the in-between thirst quencher’s with one of their newest flavors being sparkling grapefruit, crisp Rose from Wölffer Estate Vineyard and mixed cocktails care of Tuthilltown Gin and Hudson Whiskey. The weather was perfect. And to set the tone – tunes care of Rocket & the Ghost.
