SUMMARY:NYCCGC April Meeting
DESCRIPTION:From our organizers: \nThe new GreenThumb licenses will be the focus of our next general meeting. We have been waiting on the distribution of GreenThumb licenses for months\, and we hear that they will be mailed to the leadership of your community garden very soon. We hope to have a copy of the license by the time of our meeting so we can begin to discuss the contents then. \nMany of you have attended our general meetings this winter where we have had GreenThumb representatives discuss the broad strokes of the licenses. Until we have the license in hand\, we will not know the exact language or specific changes made by the city. The devil is in the details. \nAs gardeners\, our first interest is to gardens. Legal language can be confusing and your inclination may be to sign the license to get growing. NYCCGC will help you understand the license so that you can make an informed decision before you sign. \nOnce we all receive the license\, we intend to run a series of workshops in multiple locations to offer free legal review and advice. We strongly urge all gardeners not to sign the license until you are able attend these meetings to better understand what you are signing. \nPlease join us for a first look at the license’s new terms on the 18th. We look forward to answering your questions and supporting you over the coming weeks!

SUMMARY:Gowanus Superfund Town Hall
DESCRIPTION:From the organizers:\n\nThe Gowanus Canal was designated a federal Superfund site in 2010\, which initiated a complex\, multi-year clean-up. Dredging has started this fall in the 4th Street turning basin and will continue in 2018.\n\nThis public meeting is for community members to get information about the canal clean-up\, timeline and what to expect.
