Wild Rye Rumpus Saturday: Introducing Empire Rye

The New York State Assembly has proclaimed October 16-22 ‘New York Rye Week.’ This ancient grain has an important place in New York’s history beginning with its cultivation in the both the Dutch and English colonial eras.
Join us as we celebrate this historic and versatile grain, used for making rye flour, rye beer, and rye whiskey(!), which, for hundreds of years, enjoyed a prominent place in New York agriculture.
World premier of the exciting new Empire Rye designation of Rye Whiskey. A handful of leading distilleries from across New York State banded together in 2015 to create a consortium dedicated to producing the highest standard of rye whiskey to be found anywhere in the world. For the first time ever they will unveil their individual expressions of Empire Rye to the public. Some bottles will be offered for sale in limited quantities.
