Weaving and Rope Making with Plants with Jennie Maydew

Come aboard floating food forest Swale to learn the process of making rope by hand! Participants will create handmade rope and a small tapestry weaving with naturally dyed fibers, all using plant materials found on Swale. Jennie Maydew is a textile artist and middle school art teacher whose work focuses on natural dyes made with local plants. She is interested in slow and meditative processes, the wild alchemy of natural dyes, and creating tangible artifacts from seasonal environments.
