Water-and-Fire-Pop-Up-Dinner

From the organizers:

Join Fishmonger turned Chef Gustavo Frias and Chef Ankur Parikh for an 8 course pop up dinner with dishes reflecting creative interpretations of the elements Water and Fire.

The menu will represent our independent ethnic identities as Mexican and Indian Americans in combination with forms of culinary inspiration we have each encountered and studied along our journeys as chefs and first generation immigrants. Our version of NYC cuisine.

In representing our respect to water and fire we will draw from, and build upon entities ranging from aguachile to rasam to smoked mole. We will be sourcing sustainable local seafood and local, seasonal produce.

Proceeds will be sent to Texas to lend support to efforts engaged with repairing extensive flood damage caused by Hurricane Harvey. In the wake of worldwide storms in recent weeks spanning the globe ranging from the American South to South Asia, we dedicate this dinner to the people affected and to our deep appreciation of the beauty and power of our seas, understanding that there often lies fire beneath the appearance of calm, and that the action of respect and understanding our planet and one another is our greatest offering.

Each diner will receive a complimentary cocktail upon entry and wine will be available for purchase throughout the evening.

Feel free to email aaparikh@gmail.com with any additional questions.
