Tree Giveaway
May 6, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
According to the organizers:
New York Restoration Project continues to partner with community organizations throughout the five boroughs to give away hundreds of free trees to New Yorkers during the spring and fall seasons. With the help of more than 100 community organizations, NYRP has given away tens of thousands of trees to be planted in New York City!
This spring we will partner with the youth and staff of East New York Farms. Saturday afternoon come meet the folks who work hard for the community and take home one of nine native tree species! We’re offering Witchhazel, Serviceberry, Black Gum and more!
To pick up a free tree, you must agree to:
-plant in one of the five boroughs;
-keep trees properly watered and maintained;
-and plant your tree in the ground of your yard or community garden and NOT along streets or in city parks.
**Note: There is a two tree maximum for participants in Giveaways this year. Family members must be present to claim their own trees.**
