The Story and Strategy: From Mom and Pop Shop to Global Identity

April 19, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free – $5

According to the organizers:

Over the past 16 years, Clinton St. Baking Co. on the Lower East Side has grown from a 32 seat neighborhood joint into a global presence with locations in Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, and Dubai. This is a story of identity confidence, brand vigilance, and simply delicious food. More than anything else, it’s about the wisdom of customers and how to drive your business — and its financial growth — by popular demand and common sense analytics. This event is for anyone who wants to launch an idea, go bricks and mortar, learn about partnerships, licensing & legal, global expansion or the philosophy behind steering one’s vision toward success. Audience Q&A will help make this event especially meaningful for its participants.

DeDe Lahman is the co-owner of Clinton St. Baking Co. (NYC, Tokyo, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok) and Community Food & Juice in Morningside Heights . Over the last 15 years she has represented her businesses on television and radio including ABC, PBS, CBS, The Food Network, The Travel Channel, and Heritage Radio Network. Before her work as a restaurant professional, DeDe was employed for a decade as a national magazine editor and writer in Manhattan. She is the co-author of The Clinton St. Baking Company Cookbook: Breakfast, Brunch and Beyond From New York’s Favorite Neighborhood Restaurant (Little Brown, 2010). From 2012 to 2016, DeDe proudly served on the Board of Directors of New York Sun Works, a non-profit organization that builds 21st Century hydroponic labs in urban grade schools to educate students and teachers about the science of sustainability.
