Frankies and Prime Meats Present: Vine to Table

According to the organizers:

Frankies & Prime Meats Vine to Table is a series of intimate dinners showcasing the breadth of the culinary and wine programs of each Frankies Spuntino Group restaurant through the lens of great wine regions and chefs from the around the world. Each dinner will pay homage to a particular wine region, producer or varietal paired with a seasonal 4-course menu brought to you by The Franks, Executive Chef Danny Amend, and their friends.

Frankies 457 Spuntino

It is only fitting that the inaugural dinner of this series takes place at Frankies 457 Spuntino highlighting Abruzzo, and one of its finest and rising stars, De Fermo Winery.

We are thrilled to welcome its founder, Stefano De Fermo, for an evening to honor the winery and the Abruzzo region at-large. While Stefano’s Family has been selling its grapes to local cooperatives since 1785, it wasn’t until 2008 that the family returned to its original winery and began bottling their first estate vintage in 2010.

The winery produces four wines from native traditional varietals, though it only utilizes half of its potential production – approximately 15,000 bottles yearly – for quality control purposes. To quote Stefano’s friend and neighbor, Francesco Valentini of the acclaimed Eduardo Valentini Estate, upon tasting De Fermo’s wines he said, “…when I drink (his) wine with my eyes closed, I (think) that I’m drinking my own wine.”

Frankies & Prime Meats Executive Chef Danny Amend has prepared a menu in the spirit of Abruzzo and Wine Director John Paterson will be pouring wines from the estate throughout the evening.
