crEdible Source: Jane Wickline

The SNL cast member and soon to be off-Broadway musical comedy star dishes on her last meal, QR codes, and Pumpernickel bagels

As her Off-Broadway live musical comedy show, DUKES readies to debut (July 8 at SoHo Playhouse), Saturday Night Live cast member Jane Wickline burger shames Carl’s Junior and reveals the secret to pumpernickel conversion in this second edition of crEdible Source.

Your last meal: Ceviche, Godmother sandwich from Bay Cities Deli with the works and hot peppers, potato salad made by my friend Will, Zapps voodoo chips, Mango lassi, and my mom’s amazing almond cake.

Your order at the bar: Campari Soda or a lager. If it’s a place that has it I also love Caipirinhas.

The dish of your childhood: My mom’s chili

Your favorite food scene from the screen: I love the scene in Defending Your Life where the waiter says to Albert Brooks “I’m gonna get you nine pies.”

A restaurant you miss: Callahan’s diner in Santa Monica.

Something you hated and now love: Pumpernickel bagel. I don’t know if I hated it so much as I tried it once many years ago and decided I didn’t like that much. My friend Maeve got one last year and I had a bite, and now I love them. I get them with scallion cream cheese, tomato, salt & pepper.

Chicken is best: fried in a sandwich.

Dream dinner partner: My partner, Henry. Dinner with Henry is amazing, you have got to try it.

Your favorite spice: I go through paprika and cumin the fastest

Where or what you will never eat again: Carl’s Jr. Really bad. I like almost every fast food burger but that one is gross.

Your specialty: I like making lemony fish, also I love making pasta salads in the summer.

Eat me: QR codes. If a place has a QR code menu, I will never go there again.
