When we think about all the fantastic, frothy, hoppy goodness coming our way at the end of the month, we can barely stein it! We mean stand it! See? Beer on the brain.
We (and, we assume, you) wait all year for Good Beer — now in its fifth incarnation of summer sipping. This year, we’re back at 82 Mercer on July 31st pouring dozens of tappy treats from brewers like Allagash, Brooklyn Brewery, Sixpoint, Smuttynose, Abita, Greenport Harbor Ale, Unibroue, Peak Organic, and many more, not to mention ciders, spirits, and the beer-pairing prowess (mmmm) from spots like Alison Eighteen, Fort Defiance, Rick’s Picks, Gramercy Tavern, The Vanderbilt, Almond and, wow, a ton more.
The details of what’s on the menu are still coming in, but for a little preview of what’s in store: Brooklyn Cured tells us they may well be bringing smoked beef and cheddar sausage with garlic scape and turnip ʺKimchiʺ; First and South (coming in all the way from Greenport, LI – nice!) is hinting at sweet pepper soft pretzels with smoked bay salt and black duck porter mustard; Luke’s Lobster plans on succulent shrimp rolls; the Upright Brew House is bringin’ the beignets (what else would you have with a strawberry Abita? Nothing, that’s what).
