Spring is finally here (or so implies today’s lovely weather) and it’s time to start thinking about all that fantastic summer produce we’ll enjoy in the coming months. If you haven’t signed up for a CSA yet, you should consider joining one of the New York City Coalition Against Hunger’s sites. While we love all CSAs, NYCCAH’s models have special payment plans–including the ability to purchase vegetable shares using SNAP (Food Stamps) benefits–which make healthy, organic, fresh vegetables particularly affordable and accessible to community members of all income levels. The 2013 CSA program will feature five sites: The Bronx, Central Brooklyn, Flatbush Brooklyn, Long Island City and West Harlem. Click here for more info and to sign up now.
