For those who’d like to taste the foodshed covered by our colleagues at the California Edibles up close and personal, we’ve just gotten word that our photo editor, Michael Harlan Turkell, is helping judge a grilling photo contest to win a trip for two to tour St. Francis Winery and Vineyard in Santa Rosa, the heart of Sonoma wine county.
The grand prize–you can also score some pretty sweet grills–includes round-trip air fare for two to San Francisco and two nights at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa.
The winery seeks fantastic photos of grilled foods that pair well with its bottles: The place is especially well known for it’s (60-plus-year) old vine Zinfandels, Merlots and Cabernet Sauvignons. You have to submit them by by Flickr, and can find the scoop on how and complete contest rules right here.
Photos are due by August 31, and the winner will be announced September 19. Not that we have a say in the matter, but we’d like to hope MHT will give extra bonus points for locally sourced grub …and glimpses of Brooklyn in the background.
